Saiichi Sugiyama
Saiichi is the principal of the firm. Saiichi practises in Employment Law and Business Litigation.
He trained and qualified in 1990 into the litigation department at the City of London firm Linklaters before joining another City firm Ashurst, where he acted for Japanese and international clients on major commercial disputes for 11 years with particular expertise in commercial fraud. Saiichi has over 25 years’ experience of resolving disputes for clients actively engaging in risk management and strategic case management.
His clients range from Japanese trading houses and financial institutions and listed Japanese and English companies in a wide range of sectors; government organisations, Japanese law firms to private individuals. Saiichi is an English solicitor of Japanese origin of the longest standing in the London legal community. He is also known for his work as a professional musician and is a member of Employment Lawyers Association.

Roy Carlo
Roy has been an advocate in employment litigation for over 35 years and practise also in commerical litigation .
Having worked as a senior litigation manager at City of London firm Ashurst, where he first met Saiichi in the 90s, Roy joined forces with Saiichi in June 2010 to work alongside him on the increasing case load of Sugiyama & Co and to service his clients who range from small, not-for-profit organisations through to FTSE 100 listed companies.
Roy specialises in contentious and non-contentious employment matters with a particular emphasis on disciplinary, grievance and discrimination. Roy has considerable experience in appearing before the Employment Tribunals and Employment Appeal Tribunal in race and sex discrimination claims, unfair dismissal, breach of contract, employment injunctions and has experience of judicial review. Roy is a Chartered Legal Executive and a member of Employment Lawyers Association.
